Mr_Entertainment replied: "Hi Symonne I have been blogging about the best dog halloween costumes and have quite a few real world examples of the cool dog costumes that I've found all over the world that could help you for ideas. If you want some examples look at the pictures and video's I've put on: I've always opted for ordering my dog's costumes online (especially now that most retailers do next day delivery) Some of the costumes you might be able to duplicate quite easily but probably for about the same price and buying one. Best of luck and enjoy Halloween!"

Halloween costumes for dogs? I have a 6mo old german shepherd ( female ) how is rather small but 60lbs. Any ideas for a homemade halloween costume for her?

BeHappy replied: "A hot dog. That's what they did to my friend's dachshund."

michelle j replied: "Something simple and non restrictive. Halloween confuses dogs since everyone looks so different, the worst thing you can do it make her more antsy with a crazy costume! Cut an old Tshirt to fit her and use a sharpie to draw horiztonal stripes and write her a prisoner number. Instant jail bird!"

Heather F replied: "I found great halloween costumes for my dog at the Dollar Tree dollar store. PetSmart has costumes also. I can't think of anything homemade. Sorry. I love german shepherds. She must be a beautiful dog. 60 lbs. Wow. My dog is almost three and full grown at 25 lbs. He is wearing a devil costume for Halloween."

Any ideas for a homemade halloween costume for a small and big dog??? How to make a homemade costume for a small 20lb dog and a 125lb dog???any ideas??

Stephanie Loves Sammy replied: "best quote of all time "if u r a dog and ur owner suggests u wear a sweater, suggest that he wear a tail" the point is dogs dont like wearing clothes. if dogs were meant to wear clothes they would have been born without any fur. but dogs have fur and that is all the clothing they need EDIT: hey! im a girl not a guy. notice how the name says STEPHANIE loves Sammy. not Stephan loves Sammy"

hey! replied: "that is so sad what u want to do to your dogs!! id give that first guy a thumbs up but im at level one so i cant!"

Jo replied: "oh hey, most times if the owner's are having fun so are the dogs! Halloween is one of my favorite holidays and one of my dogs loves to "dress up" the other two tolerate it for a bit. The one that likes to dress up has short hair and wants to wear sweaters in the winter because she gets cold. Even in the summer she likes to get UNDER the covers! HAVE FUN! The large dog could go as a ghost, the small one as a pumpkin? I was thinking the "ghost" outfit would be easy to make. You could make a short haired large dog into a sheep with a bit of cotton.. The little dog may be cute in a lion costume. A lion and a lamb.. Whatever you do, have fun with your FAMILY."

chelan07 replied: "I bought a childs Teenage Ninja Turtle costume and tailored it to fit my Golden retreiver. She was a hit in the local parade with the children."

Homemade Halloween crayon costume for a dog? My dog is pretty big, and he is going trick-or-treating with us. Well, me, my dad, and my three cousins are all going to be crayons. All different colors, and we are home making the costumes. We need to know how to make a homemade crayon costume for him. Here is a picture of him: So how could we homemake a crayon costume for him?

mel replied: "make the body part out of fabric (with the crayon logo on it) and then make a cone-shaped hat out of foam (to be the top part of the crayon). make sure that you use a foam like foamies for the hat part so u can paint it the same color as the outfit."

Homemade Halloween costume for a small dog! Help!? Hi everyone! Im 13 and i have a miniature pincher. She small of course but I couldn't find any costumes for her. She's my little princess. But i don't know what to do for her. Any ideas? It has to be homemade because I'm out of money. And my dog likes to be dressed up. So please no bad comments saying that dogs aren't supposed to be dressed up. She likes it. Her fur is so short and thin that she needs a sweater during the winter. Even in the summer, well really all year round she sleeps under my covers right next to me. so please help. SOMETHING THAT A 13 YEAR OLD CAN DO!!!! THANKS! :D

Tyler replied: "How do you know it likes it?"

avrilrocksmysocks replied: "if shes your little princess, why not a princess costume? you could make a cone hat out of construction paper and ribbon (as long as u dont make it to tight, we dont want to cut her circulation off or squezze her head.) and for a dress if she likes it, just take some fabric, (if you know how to sew anyway, if not you can ask someone like your mom or grandma) fold it, sew the sides, cut a neck line and 2 arm holes, and one little hole for the tail. if you need cut another 2 "arm" holes near her "feet" (her paws near the back of her body) if you cant afford or dont have any fabric at home, you can always use an old t-shirt. hope this helps. :D"

Any suggestions on how to make a homemade halloween costume? I'll be taking my little one out trick-or-treating for halloween, his first, this year and my mom already got his costume for us. He's going to be the cutest cow ever. And I've decided to go as a Milk-Bone (his name is T-Bone and he's a little rat terrier) but not sure how to pull it off. Any suggestions for how to pull it off would be greatly appreciated. And please no cracks about dressing up a dog b/c don't really want to hear it.

Homemade dog costumes? Me and my friend want our dogs/puppies to be something creative for Halloween. We want it to be cute and feminine and comfortable for the dogs. We also want TO MAKE THEM. Hence the word MAKE. Can anyone give any tips and materials and Ideas for us???? Links are allowed.

xfarmxxgirlx replied: "Do not dress up your dog. It is cruel to them, being forced to wear uncomfortable, and unnatural costumes, from only the owners pleasure. The dog gets nothing postive from wearing a costume. So, don't. For your dogs sake =)."

euki replied: "Hello, It's really cool dressing up your dog a halloween costume and any. Just keep in mind the tips for keeping your pet safe. Here are the pictures you may try to your dog for Halloween. Just click on this link: Hope one of these pictures will give you an idea."

ncisrocks498 replied: "Well I don't have any tips for a homemade costume but I hear they are fairly simple to make. You can use anything from cardboard (maybe they could go as a milk carton. to fabrics. For our Sasha we got a Generic skelton costume and we are saying she is Dry Bones from the Mario games on Nintendo "

Gagan replied: "It might be too hard to make them. Just buy fairy wings or tiara's or dress them up as cats! Be careful, they can't speak english to tell you that they feel uncomftrable in them! I'd just go for something simple and warm! "

Dog Halloween Costume Help!? I have a 10 month old black lab/doberman mix (she is mostly black with brown markings on her nose and around her ankles) and she is around 50 pounds (very muscular with skinny legs). Anyway, I want to enter her into a Halloween Costume contest. Any ideas? I want to stick homemade so please don't send me links to websites! You should know that my dog LOVES dressing up. Her tummy is really hairless and if she goes outside and its cold she shivers and whimpers... She loves her prep type sweaters, but I want something no one else will do or has thought of!

lulu muffin replied: "A hot dog."

coolgpink replied: "to be really honest it's not very nice to dress your dog up but if you really want an idea just make the dog a pumpkin or something i think you should go original just mix it up a bit"

l_aponik replied: "I'm thinking as a ninja."

beast replied: "DRESS YOUR DOG UP AS ONE OF THOSE HOLLYWOOD DOGS WITH THE SWEATER."

? replied: "We have a little Mountain Fiest and I dressed her up last year as a witch. It would be easy to transform one of those sweaters into a dress and use it for a witch or princess, even a fairy. Just trim up the hem line at the bottom and add a ruffle around it as a skirt and let your ideas go from there! Happy costume hunting and Happy Halloween!!"
